Why Pavilion?

I’ve spent the lion’s share of my career working on the vendor side of public sector procurement and have seen first hand the great things that government organizations can achieve when they have the tools to operate. Pavilion is the first platform of its kind that I’ve seen helping organizations have better, faster, more efficient purchasing outcomes by helping navigate procurement regulations. Once I met the leadership team and felt the passion for problem solving, I knew I’d be amongst like minded people who wanted to do something meaningful for governments, suppliers, and constituents.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

When I’m not at work you can find me cooking in the kitchen. What used to be a chore has turned into a labor of love over the years as I’ve learned techniques new and old while developing a love for good, natural ingredients. I maintain that my paella recipe is the best in San Francisco (but I’m always open to recommendations!)

What’s a book you’ve read and enjoyed recently?

Recently I finished reading a book called “Late Admissions: Confessions of a Black Conservative by Glenn Loury”. I found great inspiration in reading such a thorough self examination by someone who gives themself the grace to change their views and opinions while reflecting on a life well lived.

Words to live by? Personal motto? Favorite Quote?

"It's always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never all dried at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal sunset, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls." from John of the Mountains by John Muir

Your theme song of the moment? // At bat song?

My theme song for the last year has been The Rain by DMX. It never fails to get me pumped up and moving.
