We’re excited to welcome Garret Meier to the engineering team! Garret joins us from Culture Biosciences where they were a full-stack engineer building an interface for bioreactors in the cloud. Before that, they worked on automating all things email at Mixmax with our engineering manager, Logan.
Pavilion’s mission to make government purchasing work better excites me! I’m drawn to the outsized impact Pavilion can bring to so many people who interact with public entities every day. It’s important to me to do work that’s unambiguously good and that really matters, and I couldn’t be happier to be part of the passionate team at Pavilion.
I don’t have any social media accounts. Over the last few years, I’ve been stepping away more and more from “The Socials” and finally took the plunge a few months ago to download all my data and delete my accounts. It feels so good!
For the year ahead, I’m hoping to rekindle a journaling practice. I enjoy writing and drawing as I go about my days, but I have gotten out of practice in recent years. I’m making an effort to keep a journal and pen handy when the mood arises.
I love a coming-of-age story and recently read The Boy with a Bird in His Chest by Emme Lund. The story’s protagonist goes through all sorts of ups and downs related to their queerness - and having a bird in their chest - in Montana, Oregon, and San Francisco. As a queer person from Montana living in SF, I found so much to relate to. It’s a great read!
